I just want to see one season. That's all.
Don't get me wrong...I am an NBA guy all the way and I love watching Lebron dominate on the basketball court (yeah, I know the Cavs had a bit of a disappointing ending to their season...next year is Lebron's year for sure). But I cannot help but wonder what a freakish specimen of an athlete like Lebron James could do on a football field. Just look at the facts: he possesses the size and strength of a D-lineman like Julius Peppers, combined with the explosiveness and breakaway speed of a running back like Adrian Peterson, the hands of a receiver like Andre Johnson, the leaping ability of....actually I don't think anyone in the NFL can jump like Lebron. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention his unbelievable vision and passing ability, common amongst top quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Basically, Lebron has got it all when it comes to the tools for making a Pro Bowl caliber football player....the only question is, what position should he play?
So come on Lebron...get a couple of rings in the NBA first, and then give us a season or two in the NFL. What kind of 23 will Lebron really be if he doesn't crossover into some other sport? Jordan did it in baseball. And he wasn't even that good at baseball. LJ would undoubtedly have a more impressive NFL career than MJ's baseball career. And just imagine the publicity such a stunt would create (as though Lebron doesn't create enough publicity anyway). How could any legitimate sports fan not want to watch Lebron on the gridiron?
What do you think? Should Lebron James play football? Leave a comment below...
